Original Works - Music & Writing
I’ve been writing original music and stories for over a decade. Below you can find some samples of my work as a playwright, screenwriter, composer and lyricist.
My current project-in-focus is ONCE UPON A CARNIVAL, an original musical theatre piece set in 1990s Trinidad of which I am the co-creator and songwriter. ONCE UPON A CARNIVAL will be featured in the 2023 Boston New Works Festival; LEARN MORE HERE.
“The Haunting”
This Is My Brave 2018
@ The Strand Theater || Dorchester, MA
I originally wrote the first version of this song in 2010-11, and since then it’s taken on new meaning to me as I’ve learned more about my and my loved ones’ challenges with mental health. I was honored to be able to present it in this context at This Is My Brave, a beautiful mental health storytelling event.
“Beat of My Own Drum”
ONCE UPON A CARNIVAL
@ 2022 MusicalWriters.com Festival - Song Feedback Panel || Fort Worth, TX
This song was presented to positive reviews from a panel including award-winning musical theatre songwriter Drew Gasparini, Broadway orchestrator and MD Macy Schmidt.
“Legendary”
ONCE UPON A CARNIVAL
Rough demo, created January 2023
A grand, sweeping, steelpan-tinged “I Want” ballad for one of the main characters from ONCE UPON A CARNIVAL, Jada Baptiste. A great audition song for a strong mezzo-soprano voice; contact me to request sheet music.
This rough demo was produced in GarageBand.
